“ I just wanted to thank you so much for suggesting to re-tie the knot, we didn't expect it to be so emotional since this was a very intentional thing to do. We are so happy to have gone through it, to experience it, and just the whole process of having to write our vows again really made us pause and cherish whatever we've gone through the past 10 years.”
For our 10th anniversary, my husband and I decided to renew our vows at Sandals Regency La Toc based on the recommendation and help of our travel adviser Breanne. We are so happy to have taken on her suggestion as we didn't expect everything to be so emotional. We had to intentionally write our vows again and go through the process of planning the ceremony with the help of the Sandals pre-wedding coordinator, Tishan. Tishan spoke to us about the kind of ceremony we wanted, where we would like the ceremony location to be, our choice of cake, music playing, and signature cocktail, etc. She explained what other amenities were there. When we got to the resort, our wedding coordinator, Dala, took over and talked us through our previous choices, the process of what was going to happen on that day, the scheduled dinner and breakfast in bed, etc. She made the process so seamless, and had coordinated with our butlers about everything, and was there at every step of the way. On the day of the renewal, I had my hair and makeup done by Raynatra and Alecia at the Red Lane Spa, and Dala had coordinated everything in such a way where I could go back to our room to get dressed without my husband seeing me, and would have his first look once the ceremony started. During the ceremony, we teared up as our officiant Gem spoke to us about what our renewal meant. After the ceremony, we had our cake cutting and cocktail hour at the gazebo overlooking the ocean, and it was incredibly romantic. Our photographer, Neah, was so sweet and took into account our suggestions for pictures and made sure we were comfortable the rest of the time. Dala and the rest of the people at the Wedding Lounge (Fernander and Stephanie) made us feel so special that even though technically the renewal wasn't legally binding, we think we would really remember this more than our original wedding. I know our anniversary is something we could have done anyway without having to make a trip or a vow renewal, but it was worth celebrating this milestone by doing this!
